Cremation in Texas, and where horses fit
About 55.7%[1] of people in Texas choose cremation, so it's familiar to most families, even if older relatives remember farm burials as the norm. For a horse you can have a little of both: cremation now, then a small burial of the ashes on land you'll keep, or scattering along a trail you rode together. Burying ashes is a far smaller job than burying a horse.

Distance from water is the detail regulators care about most, and the numbers differ more than people expect. Does the Hutto climate change what I should do first?
Only the timing. In August, with highs near 96°F, cool the body and book collection the same day. Winters here are mild enough that burial or scattering is possible in any month.
Is cremation common in Texas?
